Welcome to Pluh

Pluh is a leading literary agency in representing Czech authors. We have already managed to make over 70 transactions by selling the rights of book to more than twenty countries. Our goal is to reach the number of 100 by the end of 2010. We set value on the literary quality of novels and are convinced that they can enrich the literature abroad. Almost all our authors have been awarded with various literary prize and therefore we claim to offer the best of Czech contemporary literature.

Our aim is to prepare the ground for authors and to make sure their work find its way to foreign publishers and readers. Pluh has the exclusive right to represent the following Czech authors: Petra Hůlová, Miloš Urban, Patrik Ouředník, Tomáš Zmeškal, Emil Hakl, Hana Andronikova, Jan Balabán, Magdalena Platzová, Tereza Brdečková, Marek Šindelka, Filip Topol and Tomáš Kolský.

Petra Hůlová, Miloš Urban and Patrik Ouředník are, in terms of sales, our most successfull authors, often earning out the investment of publishers. However our other writers are pursuing them and starting to make good sales as well.

Jáchym Topol is a close associate of Pluh and the Honorary Consul of our agency. The rights of his work are owned by Suhrkamp Verlag Germany.

The authors and books represented by Pluh are the best Czech modern literature has to offer. The quality of their work is so high that we are convinced that they can own their place in foreign literatures. The proof of the pudding is in the eating, because many books of our authors have already been succesfully translated and published in many countries. Full translated texts of several novels are on request available at Pluh.
