About the author

Bianca Bellová (1970) established her name as an author straight from the start when she published her first book Sentimentální román (A Sentimental Novel) in 2009. Her real breakthrough came in 2011 with her novel Mrtvý muž (Dead Man), which received a very good press and saw a German edition. Two years later she published Celý den se nic nestane (Nothing Happens All Day) and in 2016 Jezero (The Lake), a small masterpiece, followed in 2019 with her novel Mona.

In her work Bellová has a good eye for the interactions between people and she is not shy of raising unsettling questions and to touch on the grand themes of our times. Compared with a great narrative talent, her books are a joy to read and will entice any reader.

Bianca Bellová studied economics. Currently she works as a translator and interpreter from English.
